Chief Executive Officer

Senior Statistical Advisor

Fellow, American Statistical Association

• Dr. Shen is senior statistical advisor to numerous biopharmaceutical companies to support their drug development programs. He is President and CEO Pharmapace, Inc., a biometrics consulting and CRO company
• Dr. Shen is fellow of the American Statistical Association and recipient of the DIA award for excellence in statistics publishing. He has authored many articles on statistical methodology and their applications to drug development.
• Dr. Shen was Vice President at Amylin Pharmaceuticals heading their entire clinical development organizations and played a critical role in the development and approval of several first-in-class medicines. Following the acquisition of Amylin by Bristol-Myers-Squibb in 2013, he co-founded Pharmapace, Inc. to provide exceptional services to the biopharma industry, and served as its President and CEO. Pharmapace was later acquired by WuXi AppTec in 2019. 
• Dr. Shen and his executive team recently re-acquired Pharmapace through a management buy-out.
• Dr. Shen obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of California at Berkeley and both BS and MS degrees in mathematics/probability theory from Beijing University in China.

• Ms. Han is a seasoned biostatistician with 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. She has played a pivotal role in over 30 INDs and 15+ global marketing applications, supporting drug development from early clinical phases through post-marketing. Her work has contributed to seven drug approvals, including one over-the-counter product.
• She has led statistical strategies and regulatory interactions across diverse therapeutic areas, including endocrinology, metabolic diseases, cardiovascular, NASH/NAFLD, CNS, oncology, dermatology, rare/orphan diseases, inflammatory, and ophthalmology. In addition to clinical trial design and regulatory support, she drives data mining and exploratory analyses to support drug life cycle management—an important aspect of data science in modern biostatistics. 
• Ms. Han has authored scientific publications, presented at major conferences, and remains actively involved in advancing statistical methodologies in clinical research.
• Currently serving as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Statistics and Operations at Pharmapace, Ms. Han oversees the company’s finance, statistics, and project management functions. She holds a Master’s in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan and a Master’s in nutritional biochemistry with a concentration in metabolism from The Ohio State University. She is also Past Secretary of the ASA San Diego Chapter.

• Adrian Hsing brings over 25 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry to his role as Chief Development Officer and Head of Data Strategy and Innovation. His career spans leading organizations such as Pfizer, Gilead, Elan, Ultragenyx, and BioMarin, where he has driven transformative initiatives across data management, analytics, and innovation—advancing operational excellence through strategic foresight and cutting-edge technologies.
• Working at the intersection of data science, clinical development, and emerging technology, Adrian focuses on reimagining traditional data operations by integrating artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation, and real-time data visualization. His work has significantly improved data quality, operational efficiency, and evidence-based decision-making across clinical trials.
• Adrian has supported over 13 successful NDA filings and brings deep therapeutic area expertise in hematology-oncology, anti-infective, cardiovascular, neuro-psychiatry, rare diseases, and gene therapy. He is highly experienced in implementing Quality by Design (QbD), Risk-Based Monitoring (RBM), and Centralized Statistical Monitoring (CSM), all of which have enhanced regulatory compliance and optimized trial performance.
• A visionary leader in Clinical Data Sciences, Adrian is known for his forward-thinking approach to strategy and innovation. By championing metric-driven methodologies and fostering collaboration across internal teams and external partners, he positions organizations at the forefront of the evolving clinical research landscape—enabling smarter, faster, and more reliable clinical development.
